MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR

Rotary International District 3292

Dear Presidents, Rotarians, and Members of the Rotary Family,
Greetings from Rotary International District 3292.

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that Rotary International District 3292 is organizing the Rotary Journo Award 2026 ceremony on 26 June 2026 (Asar 12, 2083 BS, Friday) in Kathmandu.

The Rotary Journo Award is a prestigious District initiative established to recognize and honor journalists, writers, communicators, bloggers, and audio-visual media professionals who have made remarkable contributions through responsible, ethical, and socially impactful journalism.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, media professionals play a vital role not only in informing society but also in shaping public awareness, amplifying community voices, inspiring civic responsibility, and promoting constructive social transformation. Their work significantly contributes to peacebuilding, humanitarian awareness, development communication, and public accountability.

Through this award, Rotary International District 3292 seeks to recognize and celebrate media professionals whose reporting and storytelling have highlighted humanitarian service, community initiatives, public welfare, environmental responsibility, literacy, health, peacebuilding, and social development — values that strongly resonate with Rotary’s guiding principle of “Service Above Self.”

I sincerely encourage all Rotary Clubs of District 3292 to actively participate in this meaningful initiative by identifying and recommending deserving journalists and media professionals from your respective communities who have demonstrated excellence in impactful journalism and communication.

The award recognizes outstanding contributions under Rotary’s seven Areas of Focus:

  • Basic Education, Literacy & Digital Literacy/Digitalization
  • WASH: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
  • Disease Prevention and Treatment
  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Environment, Climate Change & Resilience
  • Local Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution
  • Community and Economic Development

This initiative not only honors deserving media professionals but also strengthens Rotary’s relationship with media institutions while enhancing the visibility and public image of Rotary’s humanitarian service in society.

I request all Club Presidents and Rotarians to extend their wholehearted support and ensure active participation in the nomination process. Your involvement will help us acknowledge and encourage journalism that positively transforms communities, promotes responsible public discourse, and inspires collective social responsibility.

This year, nominations and recommendations will be managed exclusively through the official website of Rotary International District 3292. Therefore, all Rotary Clubs and applicants are kindly requested to submit nominations only through the District’s official online submission portal at: https://districtgrants.rotarydistrict3292.org.np/rotary-journo-award-2025-26/

Please complete and submit all nominations along with the required details and supporting materials no later than:

5:00 PM, Thursday, 11 June 2026 (Jestha 28, 2083 BS)

I extend my sincere appreciation to the Rotary Journo Award Committee, Chair Rtn. Suresh Acharya, and all those involved for initiating and advancing this meaningful recognition platform.

Let us come together to recognize and celebrate voices that illuminate truth, inspire hope, and strengthen humanity.

Yours in Rotary,
Rtn. Binod Koirala
